A breast cancer survivor, she often combines her photographs with her writing to provide inspiration to people going through their own challenges.

Sara's life in a little more detail:
Sara left the world of bank managing in 1998 after a 17 year career in Financial Services, and started the first dog biscuit business in Eastern Ontario. The Barking Biscuit Company won the award for "Most Innovative Local Business in Ontario" in 2001 and was featured in dozens of magazines (local and national), newspaper articles, and several television shows. The business was selected as the "poster business" to represent the Entrepreneurship Centre in Ottawa, Ontario for one year.

She sold the business in 2008...convinced her husband to move...and fulfilled her dream of living in Nova Scotia. She now spends her time touring the lovely maritime province with her husband, 2 dogs, and camera.
Sara joined the Bridgewater Photographic Society in 2009, and quickly became actively involved. In 2012, she compiled and published Chasing the Light, a 30 year history of the photo club. She was winner of the Photographer of the Year award in three of the four years she competed with her photographs. She served as President of the club from 2013 through 2015.
Sara was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, and conquered her fears by compiling and curating the Love From Me Project, using donated artwork from around the world to create a coffee table book to inspire people going through a difficult time. All funds raised through the project were donated to The Rose Fund, South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
From 2009 through 2015, Sara worked on a project called Paws For Charity, creating annual art books using images donated from photographers and artists around the world. All of the profits generated were donated to national and local charities (over $11,000). From 2012 through 2015, funds raised were donated to Sheltering Helpless Animals in Distress (shaid.ca).
In 2013, Blurb Books selected Paws For Charity as one of only six success stories from across Canada to use in a promotional feature. Sara was flown from Halifax to Toronto to film the project, and their video was released in 2014.
Since April 2016, Sara has been writing a column called "In Focus" - sharing her love of photography and Nova Scotia with her readers.
